>What the author is talking about, while interesting and well-written, is factually incorrect and full of unsupported claims (Nietzsche
No, u.

"And lately, did I hear him say these words: “God is dead: of his pity for man hath God died.”—
So be ye warned against pity: From thence there yet cometh unto men a heavy cloud! Verily, I understand weather-signs!"

>The tl dr is that America is so extremely individualistic
>honestly believes in the motto "it's only a crime if you get caught"
Wrong.

"From this perspective it is more obvious why the amorphous ideology referred to as “Wokeness” so often seems mixed up and chaotically self-contradictory: it is the confused response to two opposite instincts. On the one hand it is actually a kind of anti-liberal reactionary movement, a blind, emotional scramble to grasp desperately for collectivism in the most basic, tribal sort of community seemingly still available: in identity groups, and in fixed racial identity in particular. But, on the other hand, it simultaneously attempts to continue embracing the boundless autonomy of individual choice as its most sacred principle, celebrating an individual’s right to self-define everything about themselves without limit, up to and including their own concept of material reality."

"a number of beliefs totally inverse to the Stoic-derived principles considered best practice by modern Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These unhealthy beliefs included: always trusting your feelings, assuming disagreement is always a personal attack, and believing hurtful words lead to real harm, including permanent trauma. Normalization of these beliefs led to a “cult of safety” on campuses, with hyper-attention devoted to the prevention of offense (because it was now actual “violence”). Hence the emergence of such innovations as “microaggressions,” “trigger warnings,” and “safe spaces."

"a strident new ideology of “Social Justice” which, despite its self-conceived secularism, many observers have now convincingly argued bears all the hallmarks of a new religious cult, complete with a new metaphysics of truth and reality, a concept of original sin, a new hierarchy of moral virtues, a self-constructed canonical liturgy and a strict orthodoxy, a de-facto priesthood, sacred spaces, self-abasing rituals, a community of believers, linguistic shibboleths, blasphemy laws, and excommunication – among other giveaways."

"“Wokeness” isn’t an upstart faith. It’s a secularised, mutant form of the Protestantism that began with Luther."

>Excellent writing but very cynical and assholish
Game of Thrones shows how politics work.
Worm merely throws shit at you, without a single hint of understanding how it works. It's just being edgy for its own sake.

>encourage folks to give into hedonism, not go beyond themselves
In "Ward", the author initially attempted to end the book in a mass suicide of capes by infecting themselves with coronavirus, but the fans' outroar (given that the book was supposedly about self-recovery after trauma) made him redo and rewrite that shit.

Wildbow's problem is exactly that he conceives morality in sjw-esque altruistic terms of self-sacrifice, impersonal duty and vengeful moral indignation.

>Why do superheroes need to be moody, self-interested, etc.?
Because Max Weber ant the Paradox of Unintended Consequences. If you are altruistic, you're delusional. Doing "what is right" will merely make the politics bite you in the ass.

>the appeal of superhumans like Joker, Rorschach, Batman, etc. is precisely because they are NOT normal.
The ancient notion of superhero, is the one who wrecks shit up. Odysseus is great, because he is a pathological liar; Achilles is great because he is an unstoppable war-machine.

The modern 'heroes' instead, are subservient stagnating cucks, who never act, but *re*-act. Serving the decrees of the "stationary bandit" against other bandit competitors.

>Worm deconstructs the superhero genre in this way, and Ward is the reconstruction
Worm and Ward are incoherent decadent butthurt wailings of a traumatized sjw deaf Canadian cripple, who writes this shit for donations without thoroughly thinking them through.
