I'm tired of obssesing over politics, philosophy and non fiction books. I want to go back to the kind of books that first made me love reading. Good novels with interesting stories and well written characters that evoke real visceral emotion like pic related.

What books have ***almost*** made you cry? I mean, surely you've never actually cried because of a book... unless you're a faggot.

And people say 'oh, he's just a child in an adults body. it wasn't his fault.' like being a child excuses him. Like children are automatically sympathetic. I fucking hate children. They're stupid annoying cunts and this guy is too. And just how obvious can the book be in its exposition. 'hurr I'm stupid George please tell me and the reader everything we need to know in the most annoying way because i'm stupid and don't remember'
Why the fuck is this book even a classic? Then there's the bad treatment of the wife and victim blaming. I mean, I fucking hate women too, but that doesn't excuse the book of being literary vapid and a waste of time.
American literature is so fucking retarded. Like, here are the last books I've read so far this month and see if you can notice a trend: Aleph (masterpiece), Macbeth (good shit), Great Gatsby (overrated; the same thing could've been expressed possibly even better in a movie), Glengarry Glen Ross (bullshit), Importance of Being Ernest (godly), The Road (self-indulgent substance-less repetitive bore), Anthem (gave me cancer).
