They were mostly obsessed with theology. As already said, the secularist ancients must have had their fans, but no new thoughts could surface in such a culture.
They really were a continuation of the Roman's empire after all.

Is there a book anyone has on Hungarian history and culture? All I can recall from this book is that it's a very diverse area.
I know an Asiatic Hungarian. She's tired of being mistaken for Amerasian.

I love so many of mine, but cornerstone favs are Thomas Paine and the Promise of America by Harvey Kaye, and Grand Strategy of the Byzantine Empire by Edward Luttwak

I loved this one, but Luttwak also wrote a Grand Strategy of the Roman Empire.

So many to choose from!

I really would like to see a Steven Spielberg sized epic biopic of Thomas Paine's life.

But I would love to do a docu-reenactment educational film of the OP (and 1848 even)
