their "essentials" series are great introductions to a range of artists
the "biblioteca universalis" series is basically some of their huge expensive books republished in a small format and are generally excelltent
some of the huge expensive books are works of art themselves
i'm kind of a fan. i wish i had enough room for more of their huge books.

do you mean benedikt taschen? apparently he is also a huge foot fetishist. it is basically down to him that the work of elmer batters had a bit of a renaissance a few years ago.

if you are ever in london visit the taschen bookshop in duke of york square, just around the corner from the saatchi gallery. the main sales floor is not massive, but in the basement they have (many of) the limited edition books, you know the ones which come with their own tables and so on, which makes it worth the visit.

I own three of the Folio Society's Letterpress Shakespeare that were a couple of hundred pounds each

I have often been tempted to buy something outrageous like the book in pic related- a bargain at £1750- but I have never been brave/foolish enough to do it. If anyone visits London I highly recommend visiting the Taschen shop and going into the downstairs gallery. There is some eye-popping stuff down there. Combine it with a visit to Maison Assouline.
