I'm not a frequent visitor to /lit/ but I thought this may be the best place for good recommendations for what I need.

I want to start writing some poetry. Mainly lyrics for songs, but I'd like them to have some poetic quality. Problem is I have no clue how to do this so I figured I'd have to start reading some English poetry. But I'm not an native English speaker, so I really don't know much about it. So help me out /lit/. Recommend me some good English poets/poetry to get started. I'm not really sure what my taste is regarding poetry but I can name some of my favourite lyricist if that helps (although I think any recommendation is alright)
