>Mauss has spent years studying a phenomenon that some have termed the “happiness paradox.” The paradox is that when people try hard to be happy — when they make feeling happy a goal — their well-being tends to suffer for it.

Everything is just a reaction against something else. But if all the parts are reactions, then the whole will also be a reaction. For if all the parts are reactions, then some of them are reactions to something external to the whole or not. But if some of them are, then the whole is itself in some measure a reaction to things outside it. But if none of them are, all the parts will be reactions only to parts that are in the same whole. The whole will therefore be a reaction to itself, since the whole will have an essence identical to the sum of its parts, and its parts are mutual reactions to each other. Therefore the whole universe is simply a reaction to itself. But whatever is a reaction is distinct from what it reacted to. Hence, the universe is distinct from itself. But the only thing distinct from itself is nothing. Therefore, the universe is nothing, and does not exist. But if the whole does not exist, none of the parts exist. For everything that is joined forms a whole, implying that if there is no whole no parts are joined. But if nothing in the universe is joined together, then there are no reactions of anything to anything. But everything is a reaction, hence, if something is not a reaction, it does not exist. Therefore, nothing exists.

Everything is just a reaction against something else. But through the reaction you can tell what was reacted to. So everything reveals itself to be a reproduction under a different form of something else. But if all the parts are reproductions, then the whole will also be a reproduction. For if all the parts are reproductions, then some of them are reproductions external to the whole or not. But if some of them are, then the whole is itself in some measure a reproduction of things outside it. But if none of them are, all the parts will be reproductions only of parts that are in the same whole. The whole will therefore be a reproduction of itself, since the whole will have an essence identical to the sum of its parts, and its parts are mutual reproductions of each other. Therefore the whole universe is simply a reproduction of itself. But whatever is a reproduction is distinct from what it reproduces. Hence, the universe is distinct from itself. But the only thing distinct from itself is nothing. Therefore, the universe is nothing, and does not exist. But if the whole does not exist, none of the parts exist. For everything that is joined forms a whole, implying that if there is no whole no parts are joined. But if nothing in the universe is joined together, then there are no reproductions of anything. I've been doing various spiritual exercises the last couple months, and I've started to develop a giddy feeling inside of me that is similar to love
I'll see a house fly buzz around and feel the same way about it as I would feel about a cute kitten or something.
I'll see the trees swaying in the wind, and it will make me think (or feel rather) how beautiful the world is. Mystics always talk about 'love' and the likes, but I thought they were just gay sentimental retards, but now it seems I'm developing a similar sentiment.
Just thought that was interesting.

I am going to post a poem made by Fernando Pessoa:

> It matters little to me.
>What matters little to me? Dont know - it matters little to me.

That is it
That is the whole poem

I started writing my own wish fulfillment self insert fantasy texts and it's the most fun I've ever had with books in years. I'm opening up to new titles I'd never read before just to get references and most of the time I have fun with them and if I like a character I copy them to my novel.
I'm now reading books with female protags to get an idea how to make one of my heroines a cool girl but not too bossy.
Of course it's complete garbage but no one will ever read it so it's ok.

There is something special about it, it's like I get to get inside their brain without their consent

I read for fun
I'm reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince atm and it's enjoyable, when Harry reveals that he faked putting the liquid luck into Ron's cup I had to stand up because I was so excited and smiled
There are so many moments like this for me and I can read so much more quickly than I can watch television/films :)

You know what's really annoying, people who only discuss literature from the last 100 years and, even then, only a few authors. Those people who think they're hot shit because they read a few chapters from a bad Latin textbook and watch a bald guy on YouTube, they annoy me too. They can't be bothered to learn Greek or any other ancient language because there's no one to coddle them.
After deciding I would no longer put up with this nonsense on /lit/, I have found myself being more productive. I only visit this board once every few days. Feels good, man.
