8/10 so far, legitimately horrifying. Basically the fragmented diary of a schizoid man.

Should i read it or Book of Disquiet first?

Why if the Book of Disquiet so popular on /lit/? Mensagem is much better (specially if you have read Os Lusíadas). In fact, Bernardo Soares falls short of other heteronyms. Is it something to do with the translation?

now this I can do! Right now I'm reading East of Eden, my first Steinbeck, and loving it. Good 600 pages or so. Now 9 others I liked

If, hypothetically, I were to be somewhere isolated (like some mountain backpack hike journey) I think the book of disquiet would be the only book I'd bring (if I were to limit to one, hypothetically). I highly recommend that you at least read a little of it in a bookstore. The thoughts that can flow from that badboy are worth thinking on
