I read this when I was twelve or thirteen because it was in my sister's room and I had heard that Palahniuk was great from my schoolyard chums. It was absolute dreck. It was just a string of shallow observations masquerading as major epiphanies. That, coupled with Palahniuk's penchant for desperate attempts at shock, made me swear off anything he had to do with.

i picked up this after reading fight club. i just finished it, and now i want to read up more from palahniuk.
