Synthesis: make chimp noises. See, Synthesis is the most retarded thing one could do when facing this problem, which makes it the best. You are not going to the solve the problem with a reaction, but instead a complete ignoring of the problem while dominating the tempo. TEMPO, TEMPO, TEMPO. I hopped freight trains for 5 months in Oregon and ended up in Portland. I stayed there for a month and honestly, it was the only time I've ever felt truly free. In my experience, homeless people do not die of starvation in first world nations. We ate for free at the daily shelters and scrounged up enough change during the day to pay for plenty of alcohol and occasionally delicacies like heroine. New clothes were stolen from corporate department stores (no theft from individuals) and even "clean" water is free. Depending if you look the part, you may even be let into local anarcho, grindcore, ect shows for free. I imagine the winter months would be difficult, but with adiquate knowlege of the rails, you can simply travel to warmer cities in the south during the rainy season.
What I'm trying to say here is this: Participation in the spectacle is a voluntary act. You are NOT required to own, to participate, to toil for the illusive "privileges" bestowed upon the players of the game, or to accept the validity of the spectacle in spite of your family and peers utter devotion to it.
This is why I personally believe Diogenes was closer to the Truth than Plato or any other Greek philosopher of the time. Highbrow intellectualism is not a mandatory element to the life of a happy individual, so long as they choose to not live by the standards set by the elites of the spectacle.
