Friendship values? I don't know where you got that from. Friends in Russia are just the same as here in the U.S for me. Every image you have of Russia will be shattered when you move there. Unless you're in Moscow or St. Petersburg, which are (right now) just as good as any other city in Europe.

I guess if you like the language you can move to one of the above cities. But you are better off not going with unreasonable expectations. Speaking from experience though, Russia will break your spirit. It is really, really not a good place to live.

It is still pretty bad. Moving further West you will get more livable places for expats. You may dream of living a badass Eastern European lifestyle, but it has that image for a reason. It is very hopeless and austere.

And to answer your question, honestly probably. Many Rural girls think foreigners are great... But think about the reason. Its because it sucks to live there.

But I must disclaim, my version of Russia ends at about 2011 when I moved here to the US. So your mileage may vary I guess. But judging by my family back home... it still sucks..
