/lit/, I have to read Pride & Prejudice (Jane Austen) and In Cold Blood (Truman Capote)

Am I in for a horrible time? They're both around ~400 pages and I have to read them both before summer ends. Thoughts on these books?

Alright /lit/, I forgot a gen ed elective so I'm finishing it up this semester. One course I looked at has these books as the required readings and is classified as an American Lit course. I'm a science major and mainly read French+German literature as a hobby, so I know absolutely nothing about any of these authors save what wiki has told me. They all seem like typical girl romance novels, albeit in the "classic" section so they must have some merit.

What do you say about these, /lit/, and would it be an enjoyable experience as a young adult male to read these?

>"Pride & Prejudice" - Austen
>"Jane Eyre" - Bronte
>"Mrs. Bridge" - Connell
>"Hours" - Cunningham
>"Wide Sargasso Sea" - Rhys
>"Mrs Dalloway" -Woolf

Why does /lit/ recommend this book?

Hello /lit/. I'm looking for novels that contain a couple that have a happy relationship throughout the entire story. Starting off as friends and moving on to a romantic relationship is fine. Any recommendations?

Well, I'm stuck writing a research paper over a book that I had no interest in reading. It's 4 pages over Austen's use of irony in Pride and Prejudice. I'm a horrible writer, and I need advice on how to structure my paper. I'm not asking anyone to write it for me, just for advice on a structure that will allow me to stretch the topic intelligently for four pages.

Hey /lit/. I'm writing a paper on Pride and Prejudice, and one of the things I want to discuss is the "lore" of the book. In other words, how the public regards it, stereotypes, prejudices, assumptions, etc. However, I am not the public, so I was wondering whether you would mind giving me a hand.

If you'd like to help me out, I'd love to know what your attitude is towards the book. Any preconceived notions?

tl;dr: How do you feel about Pride and Prejudice?

/lit/, this is /a/ in dire need of assisance. I've tried, but I simply CANNOT get a bearing on this book, and I have a test on it tomorrow as well as have to begin a research essay on it. If I don't do this, I'll most likely fail and will not be able to get my scholarship, thus not going to college, etc etc.

Can you oh so lovingly help me with some questions please? Also, what are some good reference sites about the book? I need at least 4. Thank you in advance! I REALLY need this help.

Fuck y'all Twilight.

Fuck y'all Clockwork Orange.

Fuck y'all obnoxious literature.

Lets get some Pride and Prejudice up in this bitch. If you weren't surprised by the insight of a two-hundred year old novel that's still very applicable today, get out. If you don't want to be an upper-class socialite in the Victorian era, get out. If you don't want Mr. Darcy's babies, get out.

I'm trying to read this book, but her writing style and the distance I feel from the characters is making it really, really hard. It's like reading a newspaper article or something. I'm starting to think it's just one of those books that's a classic because it's a classic.

Anyone else with me?

"Well, well," said he, "do not make yourself unhappy. If you are a good girl for the next ten yeas, I will take you to a review at the end of them."

I'm loving this book so much., thoughts on it?
