I mean...I'm not bothered that I'm a selfish dick...but it just bothers me that I'm not bothered by it, and that my life seems to be so much better than when I was always trying to please others.

Well, I'm not an active dick - I'm more of a passive dick. While I don't go out of my way to harm others, I just really don't care about anyone's feelings or well-being other than my own. I never feel bad about it, but I do feel uneasy that my life is so much more enjoyable this way. I keep feeling like I'm overlooking something, but that's it: it's never more than a passing unease.

i don't use this board for actual discussion of literature. I use other online websites for this because i have observed the level of stupidity this board entails and i know that if i did want to discuss a literary essay there are very few people who will have read it.
And if i shared that essay with /lit/ there are very few people who will read it.
