He definitely nailed Green's style of premise, but 98.4% of writing is execution, not premise. Not that John Green of all writers would be prohibitively difficult to imitate in that respect, but it's worth noting. Let it not be said that poplit is bad because it doesn't take any kind of skill or effort, just that the skills one has to cultivate is nivellated and the effort put in is contempt of God. He has a genuine talent for pandering to atomized adolescents and skillfully emulates their consciousness and, for a time, he formed a technological personality cult around that image. Of course, they ended up turning on him, editing Tumblr posts to be about him swallowing semen, making up rumors about him, and overall framing him as an effigy in their culture war. It's somewhat poetic.
