Hey /lit/, I am writing an Essay on Forgiveness. My thesis is that you can only forgive if you suffer, as suffering is imminent.

Anything I can focus in particular, anything I could say additionally? I can formulate a better counter argument for this project, but I dont want to end up fucked.

I'm not gonna lie, I like this Hunger Games series. It isn't anything profound, and is an easy read. If I don't take it too seriously, I enjoy it. Are there any other fiction novels like this? Something like Harry Potter or LotR or GoT where everything is in its own universe and isn't necessarily trying to be deep. Just something to enjoy. I've always been a sucker for fantasy-type books.

For me it's not collecting or showing off, but nostalgia.

I'll forever be impressed by how something so simple, crude and cheap can transmit such powerful emotions and thoughts to me. That a little pile of paper and ink can hit me harder than a huge theatrical production with the finest actors, the most expensive cutting-edge special effects.

It's the humble simplicity of books that's enchanting and a relatively new gizmo like an ereader lacks some of that charm. I'll still pick one up eventually but will never abandon books altogether.

I have no self-discipline or self-restraint. I've spent 8-12 hours per day online/fapping/playing games for 12 years. Shit has altered my neural pathways in pathological and possibly permanent way.

I'm beyond moderation. I'm convinced cold turkey is the only way to do it. Once I've cleared net and porn out of my system and my dopaminergic pathways have recovered, I might be able to train my self-discipline in incremental steps as you suggested.
