What are the theologic ramifications, with regards to eastern monastic and spiritual practices, when we re-regard the Holy Spirit as the Breath of God, which is another translation possible in diverse places in the scripture, namely Genesis 1. It seems that the east has far surpassed the west when it comes to breath meditation, but not for lack of western necessity, rather western impetus, because if the Spirit is what gives men faith, then it is not only useful, but invaluable wtih regards to salvation and immortality.
