"LITERATURE" wants to chisel words to meet incestuous standards. Combine complex wording with arid content and you have nothing to show. That's why normies don't into books.

Your style books can dickpunch my burgershoes. A style fetish leaves your expression coldly caged. Jungle-spawned bearded apes (such as ourselves) know by association. That's, the brain works associatively, not rationally, for you savants. Big brains (such as ourselves) perceive tone, texture. I'll let in that WORDS are significant, but let's downplay that for now. STORY and VERB make us remember. This art is not lost...just found in places it shouldn't be.
