/lit/ - Literature

So my wife, for an art project at school, is required to tear up books and make some sort of artistic expression from them. I would be annoying by that, considering I'm a bit of an obsessive bibliophile, but then I found out she's tearing up Anne Rice novels. I feel nothing but pride.

I'm about halfway through Robinson Crusoe. I'm having one main thought, really. The same one I had when I read Gulliver's Travels and Don Quixote: "Oh! so that's why this book is so influential!"
Kinda makes me wish I'd actually read it back in junior high instead of watching that cartoon version. Oh, well. Thirteen years late is better than not at all, I guess.
