Hello /lit/,
I want to get into writing but I have never written before in my life (aside from academic essays and the like).
I have decided to start writing by combining it with one of my major passions, cinema, and have begun writing film reviews, but I am in need of some advice.
Is it wrong to write film reviews like a literary commentary?
Can one write in such a way that assumes that the reader is familiar with the film?
I will try to write one review every 2-3 days and hopefully my style and approach will improve over time. Are there any other ways that I can ease my way into writing regularly? I think I would prefer to write non-fiction as I lack the imagination for non-fiction but NaNoWriMo is coming up so who knows.

Beautiful Hungarian impressionism unrelated.
