Has a book ever gotten you out of depression?

To get into medieval romances and chansons de geste I've decided to start with Le Morte d'Arthur. Can anyone please recommend a specific edition? I'm thinking of buying a cheap copy of Vinaver's Malory: Complete Works. Please nothing abridged.
