More suitable suggestions could be given if you are able to clarify what his specific interests and goals are. That said, I will try to make some general suggestions, but before I do so it is important to remember that *the most important metric of a successful pedagogy is the willingness of the learner*. So if he is not interested in a specific thing then it is no use studying it, because he will struggle to retain information and it will cause him to associate your homeschooling with boredom. Learning does sometimes require a bit of grinding, so apply this at your own discretion.

Recommended Subjects:
>Literature and Philosophy, Math, Social Sciences

Optional Subjects:
>Classical Languages, Hard Sciences

>Literature and Philosophy
Literature: The Odyssey, The Illiad, The Bible (at least the Gospels and Romans), and Hamlet are absolutely essential.
Philosophy: Plato's Apology and Republic, Basic Textbook on Logic, Locke's An Essay Concerning Human Understanding. Supplement with background reading, particularly plato.stanford.edu

This should take no more than a few months, after which you can teach according to specific fields of his interest. If he is smart, then I recommend you go Aristotle -> Hume -> Kant for a very solid philosophical grounding.

>Math
This one depends on his own level. I don't know your own level of qualification in this subject either. Regardless, in my opinion, it is important for an educated person to at least have a high school level education in math.

I recommend using guided programs like Khan Academy or education Youtube channels. You can use these to fill in gaps in his learning from school as well as progress his general level. I'm not very familiar with this field though, so I can't provide information on goals or time required.

>Social Sciences
History: he should have a decent understanding of the history of the world from WWII onwards (e.g. immediate aftermath of WWII with United Nations, The Cold War and the subsequent wars in Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan etc, Gaddafi, Suez Canal, Osama Bin Laden, the Israeli State, Deng Xiaoping's Reforms, Mao in China - all this is just off the top of my head but you get the point) as well as the history of your country from its founding.

Economics: basic understanding of economic concepts like the Invisible Hand is important. A good first year university textbook would suffice. Sowell's Basic Economics is a good recommendation too.

Political Science: teach him about the foundations of your government. The source of their laws, their political system, their constitution if you have one, current political parties and their stances.

For all of these subjects, advanced high school level to university level general textbooks are probably the most efficient way to accrue a decent understanding. Personally, most of my knowledge comes from reading wikipedia pages about this stuff.

It's great fun hanging out with my BPD friend. You never know what she's going to do - will she burst out in tears, or spontaneous decide to go somewhere, or sit quietly with me, or cuddle and kiss me? It's just impossible to predict. Her other friends run for the hills but I stay and revel in the madness

How do you actually monetize your verbal and linguistic ability? What's the point of understanding Kant and knowing ancient Greek if you can't buy a house with it.
