What exactly is the moral of "The Fox and the Grapes" supposed to be?

>ONE hot summer’s day a Fox was strolling through an orchard till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch. “Just the things to quench my thirst,” quoth he. Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump, and just missed the bunch. Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up, but with no greater success. Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel, but at last had to give it up, and walked away with his nose in the air, saying: “I am sure they are sour.”

>i have no achievements, no redeeming qualities, have barely read a book in my life, but cling to the vain sense of superiority based on my sex even though, by all accounts, i am an abject failure. This sense of superiority springs from my resentment of not having hot women throw themselves at me even though i never leave my room, have no personality, no friends, no hobbies, and never talk to women. Really, intrinsic qualities are all i have, so i define my worldview by them as, without this anchor, i would have to face the uncomfortable reality that i have wasted the last two decades of my life and am doing nothing to try and reconcile the situation. It is much more comfortable to sit in my room and wallow in my misery, blame every ill that has visited me on something beyond my control, and generally engage in a life of mere existence.

The fox who longed for grapes, beholds with pain
The tempting clusters were too high to gain;
Grieved in his heart he forced a careless smile,
And cried, ‘They’re sharp and hardly worth my while

Boredom also excludes however it is the individual excluding himself from the group out of disinterest, the inverse of ostracism, which creates ressentiment of its own. Though it is of a different flavor. The exalted man will in some way be envious of the herd, of the mass that can remain so sanguine and so enraptured by such simple games and festivities.

But these men are rare, and most often they are impostors. Pic related.

Rec me some really great books about why romance isn't real and the movies and music I've been indoctrinated by my whole life have been lying to me. Cynical stuff about how pointless and stupid conditional love is, how it's good to not have any attachments and desires, especially when it comes to relationships. Despook me thoroughly, I've been brainwashed for too long. Pic unrelated I hope.

>People delve into 'manchild media' because it's fun and easily acessible
>Not everyone has an interest in middle/high brow art
Yes anon and that makes them idiots who are lesser than us. It sounds like you can identify with consuming empty juvenile media because it's "funner". If you actually understood literature and poetry you'd know that isn't the case at all. You're supposed to love this stuff, if you are forcing yourself to read Proust or Melville than it was never meant for you in the first place

So instead of answering, you would rather avoid the question? Is that really what an intelligent person would do? I surely thought you would hold some great answer within your head, being the queen of /lit/ and /sci/.
