Melancholic as fuck. Regressing into ever-more elitist circles makes aspiring people that live in a cultural desert lose hope.
I won't be reading the turds being sold as books, but I won't be reading anything else either. If anything, the latter has only diminished my chances of remaining/becoming a meaningful part of my community.

Go make yourself some money then. Everything's a hobby. The fact remains that it would be better for society if people behaved as cultured beings rather than money-hungry monkeys. I'm glad I can have some of the money I earn go towards the goal of making the society I encounter more cultured.
