In fact there is. His name is Peter Turchin, a Russian population biologist who reinvented Malthus with a mathematical model. He made population biology for humans.
There are several articles on him and his model. he also has a blog.

I am working on my magnum opus. It seeks to synthesize Taleb's concept of the Antifragile, Turchian cycles, Kauffmansque Adjacent Possibles, Gray's critique of ideology, Tony Santoro's commentary on modernity and lastly psychology with a grounding in evolution/biology.
