I've always gotten good grades in English related subjects and loved reading, but whenever I've tried to write fiction independently I get so bogged down in self consciousness I can barely even begin. Is it worth pushing through this just because the idea of writing is interesting to me, even if the process is unbearable, or is writing just not for me. Also, what strategies are used to overcome this?
