>my stupid History prof said that Marxism isn't relevant anymore
funny, Im a history major and id say something like maybe 1/4 of my history teachers are explicitly marxists. And from the stickers on the doors of the history department professor offices.... I dont think thats too far from the overall distribution of the history department.

My favorite teacher is a Hegelian. Though I do get some decently good historical materialist profs too. Ive noticed my favorite teachers incorporate historical materialism as a particular lense (though that itself leads to a wishy washy perspectivism which they are usually glade to confirm themselves).

Though I did have one teacher like you described that was definitly very "liberal" and said that marxism and that stuff about class isnt as relivent anymore and its obscurant to racialism and other systematic sctuff. You could tell he use to be some sort of socialist, but got worn down over time with how resigned he said it.

History isnt a dumb subject, its what>>19101285 said where more prof's are very cognoscent about the perspectivism in their feild of study.

Have to disagree. Not even voraciously anti-anime. I dont mind watching my junk food One Piece from time to time, or going back to watch Ghost in the Shell or something, but the vast majority of anime is inane shit.

With a large enough sample size there is going to be a subset of stuff that is legitemently good in any hobby, But anime doesnt exactly stand out that much desu.
