How to I get my edits under control?

Every time I fix something, three more things come into question, so I decide to fix them and in the process I end up with 9 more things I have to fix!

All I meant to do was patch the plot so a character decides on a new goal for reasons that aren't nonsensical, but in the process I realized the sudden attitude of one character make no sense, the character arc of the mc starts zig-zagging back and forth erratically, and several events might have to be reshuffled in a way that will erode some of the main character's competence

I am now facing the very real possibility that I might either lose the use of my entire body, or at best kill myself before it happens. I'm 24.

What am I supposed to do in a situation like this?

>I realize I have nothing to say and am just meandering to to pad out something that would amount to 3 pages of character description and a singular occurrence of him at the train station
