I was chatting with a Muslim and he said one of the key element of the Quran is the belief in mediocrity.

I didn't get if he was referring to the Galton board or if he meant that the goal of Islam was to make everyone and everything mediocre.

If the latter is the case then it's just like Christianity but more strongly enforced.

As I see it Christianity makes you sick with guilt, and Islam and the Asian religions shame you and make you fear bureaucracy.

They're all slave moralities.

People have two opinions about the Muhammed's Quran.

The Quran is cruel, primitive, boring, repetitive.
The Quran is beautiful, poetic, philosophical, untranslatable.

Who's right?

Hello /lit/. recently I have wanted to start reading the quran. I've heard that it may be tough to understand the quran as an English speaker and I'm unsure which version I should read. Also I would like to request more information on how the quran works and how it is organized.

Had a dude from desert land tell me and he whole heartedly believe that if you kick the Quran you’ll be obliterated on spot and casted to hill. Is this in the Koran or a common belief or was he just dabbing on me
