>What are you implying with that?
What I am implying is looking at the contemporary left as opposed to the older left of the 1960's when considering the black community.

BLM can be a part of that.
>blacks are trashed by USA.
How? And how is BLM a valid movement because of that? Blacks being trashed by the USA could be true while BLM being a valid movement be false.

>The west objectively did the most for the human race as a whole than any other.
I'm not riding it's dick but just a basic understanding of history shows this.
No matter how cultural relativist you are, you have to give this point to the west.

I don't think you understand how history works.

Prove to me "objectively" that the silk roads are less important than the west to the human race as a whole and you'll quickly see that this idiotic tribalism is freshmen level banter.

I wont pretend to understand it. It seems pretty dumb but I shouldnt give an opinion either way.

If this helps, I do remember Marx describing deconstruction with capitalism, how capitalism naturally has the seeds of its own undoing. If I remember right someone told me that deconstruction is that all ideologies are like this, they contain the very things which will make the ideology blurry, chaotic, in constant need of qualifiers, etc.

I wonder if you guys have read his work, and how much of it.

Have you ever read his work where he tries to deal with anything Greek?

He literally doesnt understand Greek. He will inconsistently describe what the Greek "self" meant when discussing what "caring for thyself" is.

He is just wrong on a basic level. If you tried to write a paper on this you couldnt, because he never says the same thing twice on the matter, and if you look up the actual Greek sources (Aristotle) he is just wrong.

I knew this thread was doomed, but it just dawned on me that threads like these are always young men screaming at each other without mouths that they are less lonely than the other

Anon, I wouldn't worry yourself about this at all.

Honestly, look at the thread that has come out of your question. It is a nice and interesting thread because of all the kind anons trying to give an insight while at the same time being pretty calm about it, but at the same time they are wildly assumptive about huge and grand things that can't possibly be summed up in such a simple way.

If you want to have it name a time period then ok, postmodernism will just take up the space before something very big happens on a global scale. Think about it, how the hell do you have a period of time that begins after the end of the second World War? What could possibly end that time period? You could argue that the internet is the beginning of a new period, but that might be the only thing. Even then, there was the bomb and now there is the internet, but the bomb still exists. I couldn't possibly refute someone who argued that the internet is also part of this time period, because again the parameters were fucked from the beginning.

As far as a movement of thought or art, just don't bother. The movement has "non-definition" within its "definition". Leave it at that. It is vacuous and not worth the time.

Maybe a better way to phrase that question is, which would you recommend?

Related, what are the best ghost stories? Are there any works of the Western Canon that can be considered ghost stories besides Hamlet?
