What are some artworks made provocative by their context rather than content? The most famous example I can come up with is Piss Christ; the image is made provocative only when one finds out the method behind it. To an outsider, the joke is lost.

I feel some French revolutionary paintings that depict Marat like a biblical saint share the same quality.
