Just started reading The Book of the New Sun a few days ago.

So far I'm loving it, I'm almost half-way through Shadow of the Torturer, I really live the concept of it. The narration isn't exactly appealing to me, but it does little to diminish the experience for me.

Anyways, I just wondered if /lit/ could recommend any similar reads to me.

Good morning /lit/erati. I'm trying to convince my girlfriend to read the Book of the New Sun tetralogy (or at least the first book).

What say you? Should she read it or not?

What do you guys think of The Book of the New Sun, personally I love it.

-Cover art, pre or post graphic designs
-Literary graphic novels
-Artist, style or "ism" specific books, including biographies
-Essays on the topic of any of the arts (Orwell's for instance)
-Architecture, music/musicians, Cook books
-Bibliophilic pics (The library pic threads, or desktop pics of old books)
Etc. Art is everywhere.

so i read Book of the new Sun, but i don't understand what's with all the incest in the book? why does Severian feel the urge to have sex with all his relatives?

from book of the new sun, what does this sentence mean?

"The old women are seventh-generation prisoners, so they said-but one let it slip that her mother had been a seventh generation prisoner as well."

Severian is a cool guy, eh raises the dead and doesn't afraid of anyone.
