I want to attempt something.

I recently had an idea. I have never attempted to write a work of fiction before. This may make me seem uninformed or cringe to /lit/, as most of you only read the highlights of world literature, but I am truly obsessed at this point.
My goal is to write 5-9 works, each ~30 pages or so, that are meant to be the writings of an ancient civilization. This is not a magical story, this society will be set in a place like Baylon. These works will contain a scientific treatise, a history, a philosophical/political doctrine, a book of poetry and quotes, and a book of laws. These will all subtly reference each other indirectly.

My biggest worry is that they will end up being a copy of whatever I am reading. For the past year I have been heavily reading Plato, Herodotus, Sophocles, Homer and Ovid, and I am worried that what I write will seem to be a copy of greek works. Aside from this, do you have any advice?
I have already begun the first few pages of the scientific work.
