Opinions on Hunter S. Thompson? I've just recently finished Hell's Angels and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I found them both pretty comfy. I also have The Rum Diary sitting on the bookshelf, but I was thinking to focus on some of his essays maybe?

Did he actually help change journalism or was his writing merely a fad for a time of social and political unrest?
