I have one genuine question for the mods: what is your criterion for banning philosophical threads? You've kept up running a thread in which the OP said nothing more than Chomsky is a faggot; now someone posts a thread about Berkeley, recounting a true anecdote of his life and a true theory he espoused, snd the thread got immediatly canned. What the fuck? Why do you guys delete so many philosophical threads without any explanation? And don't say "we pruned that thread because no book title was mentioned in the OP" because 1) almost no thread currently running has a book title in the OP, and 2) book titles are not required in philosophy, since mentioning the theory is akin to mentioning the book in which it is contained.
Could you please stop doing it? You cannot immagine how fucking annoying it is to write a long serious post about philosophical matters only to discover that you cannot post it because for some fucking unexplainable reason one of the mods decided that the thread had to be deleted.

How do we improve the quality of this board?
I've seen /lit/ deteriorating to nothing but a shell of it's former self, I just can't stand back and watch it degenerate anymore

This isn't strictly meta but, I want to ask you anons, on which other boards do you actively converse? I lurk several ones but it's usually just obnoxious meme'ing where nobody even bothers to read your posts. The reason I post on /lit/ is that it's a bit different that way, not strictly out of enthusiasm for literature.

So the topic doesn't even matter so much. But I'd like another one where people read, think, and reply.
