sorry to bother you with that, but I just can't find this through google.
I'm looking for sci-fi book or series of books, someone told me about a few years back.
Here is what I remember.

It takes place very far into the future.
Mankind has spread all over the universe.
There are no aliens though.
Either the resources of the entire universe are almost depleted or the universe itself is kind of dying.
Basically, all is going to end in the forseeable future and humans are fighting each other for the last scraps.

Does that ring a bell for anyone? It's all I can remember, but it's driving me nuts now, that I can't find it.

But it's when people twist it to justify their own petty hatreds that I get disgusted. People who hold stupid prejudices against others, using random bible passages to try and justify themselves. People who do good things not as an expression of camaraderie and empathy for their fellow man, but to get the 'reward' of heaven or to act holier-than-thou. People who pester you about religion, and tell you you're going to hell if you don't accept THEIR views. People like that are why religion has a bad name.

I have a persuasive essay due for english and Im not really sure what to do it over.
I was gonna do it over God not existing but thats gonna get me nowhere. I still want to do it over religion though... any ideas bros?
