Hey, /lit/. This kind of thread most definitely was already made and hated by lots of you, but it is really important for me to get your opinion and help.
I want to know which books I need to read to pass the so called "entry level". To understand different concepts of what literature can be. I guess that mostly I am referring to novels, it being my favorite format of literature but feel free to recommend other genres if you can call them that. English is not my native language.

By far the best books (in my opinion) that i have read are:
White Noise
Catcher in the Rye
Homo Faber
Arch of Triumph
To Have and Have Not
Never Let Me Go
The Gambler
The Mosquito Coast

And others of course that might be worth mentioning but I can't remember them.
I'll hope you will ignore my huge newfaggotry.

I know not the title, nor the premise, actually, just a handful of details. I felt this is the best board to ask.

The details I know are pretty much what this guy is looking for:

rain-and-joins/td-p/1278111

Other details I remember are the boy being beaten if he doesn't make it rain for the people who visit the carnival and the local townspeople making him put out a cigar with rain, which he does by repeating "Little rain" and straining to make a tiny cloud which precisely puts out the cigar. I think they were planning to beat him otherwise.

Thanks, /lit/erati

Does anyone else read a ton of books at the same time? I actually have a spreadsheet of 40 books. I read a section or chapter at a time then go to next book. Spreadsheet keeps track of the page I'm on. People at work think I am weird and wonder how you can remember what's going on with each book, but it's not bad at all.

tl;dr
anyone read 40 books at a time?

So /lit/, last night I did this, it failed. I'm going to try again.
Reading things on a livestream. Most likely either Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Sapphire Rose by David Eddings, or even The English Patient.

Might even do some erotica.

Go if you wish.

This is the last question i have for an assignment. The lecture barely mentions -ish on the subject of the question. Please help.

Describe the role of communism in politics of the 1930’s.

I'm thinking of taking Literature for my A-levels but I'm not too sure. Do I need to be dedicated? What kind of skills do I need to maintain and practice in order to do well?

Hey /lit/

I wanted some advice. You see, I am trying to decide between majoring in Philosophy or English Lit and I cant make up my mind. My eventual plans are to enter graduate school in either Architecture or Law( leaning towards arch). I love both philosophy and literature equally so this is a really tough decision. Also, if you don't already know, the J.D. and M.Arch degrees both do not care what your undergrad major is in. THANK YOU!

Dear /lit/

A few months ago there was a giant directory full of ebooks that was arranged by author's last name. It also had series like Star Wars and Warhammer seperated from the other.

I have reformatted my computer and lost this link. Would you kindly help out a fellow /lit/fag and provide it to me? I remember it had something along the lines of "SandyFox" in the directory.

Thank you, Friends.
