i think the goldfinch crushed any (already slim) chances of this ever happening, but i sincerely hope tartt remains at a comfortable enough level of wealth so that she never has to sell the rights to this. they'd fuck it up beyond belief

Anyone else find this a really bittersweet read?

What got me was all the young adult foolery, college shenanigans, enjoying life with a group of intelligent friends and mentors who actually give a fuck. Sometimes when I talk to Xers and Boomers, they talk about their college days with this light in their eyes and say shit like "those were the best days of my life" or imply that we have some sort of beautiful college experience in common. The reality for me was very different, and this book does something similar... shows college with all this ideallic picturesque, romanticised student life, and dionysian thrills.

Also they did nothing wrong

Spoiled myself and found out Bunny dies, also that the twins are incestuous.
Is this still worth reading?
Also, do you particularly care about spoilers?

What book would lit reccomend next?

I liked the high society snobbery and the tight circle of friends/cult thing
