The incongruity is to be found between the simply ridiculous number of cats attacking Mr. Sunday and his sly assertion that he escaped from them by some act of cunning. The artist goes for something like the moomins in terms of tone: there isn't a structured joke in every strip, but I think it has a very cozy and convivial vibe.
