The Worm Ouroboros comes to mind right away, as does The Night Land by William Hope Hodgson.

Robert E. Howard is one of the better known ones - you should still read him if you haven't already - but his contemporary, Clark Ashton Smith, has been largely forgotten. His stories are mostly available here:
