Why does no one talk about this guy?

"The Infinite"
Always to me beloved was this lonely hillside

"A Solitary Life" is too long to post but it's one of my favorites.

I'm literally leopardi. So many of his poems are strongly relatable to me. It's incredible to me how I'm feeling the same feelings and thinking the same thoughts as someone that lived 200 years ago

Any poets in English like him? On wiki, it says that Yevgeny Baratynsky, a Russian poet, is very similar to him but I'd prefer to read something in English.

What does /Lit/ think of Leopardi? Expecially regarding his philosopy. I'm asking because he's doomercore at its finest, and he's the pessimistic par excellence. Right now I'm reading his prose work "Operette Morali" and it's a fine piece of literature

philosophically speaking, he was a sensualist.
