You aren't wrong and the people overreacting and getting upset over tbis are pussies, but you should probably add the caveat that it only appliesnto things within your control. Like, my wife gets a untreatable terminal case of cancer, I have zero control over that. You should grieve and do your best to a good husband (so acting like you said), but there are somethings outside of your control, although everything you listed is in your control to a large degree. And yeah, philosophy is useful but only so much as it can be acted out and can be used to gain virtue. That's why the only worthwhile philosophers are the virtue ethicists that lived before the Nominalist revolution and people inspired by the Ancient Greek virtue ethicists. So basically, Aristotle and his intellectual children and Zeno of Citium and his school of philosophy.
