I've read Eragon and Eldest.

It's pretty exceptional material for a young man to produce. He obviously had a very good homeschooling education, and his parents likely took some editorial liberties. That being said, I found the story to be extremely captivating when I read it in my early high-school years.

IMO the magic system in this book is the most brilliant and well conceived magic systems in the genre of fantasy, even better than Tolkien and GRRM. It borders on Religion, as magic should, and there are many passages that really touch on some transcendental motifs. At times it does have the air of adolescent sophistry about it, but knowing the author's age this is not so hard to forgive for the sake of the general story and world immersion that the author successfully creates. the 3 monoliths of fantasy are Tolkien, GRRM, and Paolini IMO. Definitely worth the read, even if you don't like it.

Paolini has some great interviews and material available online which I've found to be pretty insightful.

I'm not even black, but the quote that "the best way to destroy a people is to take away their ability to reproduce themselves" clicked. I'd seen the infographics, but when I heard him say it that's when it all came together; our differences will never be reconciled, technologies are deracinating us, and all these bs social issues come back to reproduction. You still have something you can fight for anon; go innawoods, have kids, and don't come back. Anyone that tells you otherwise is not your friend. If I don't make it, know that I tried.
