Thomas Bernhard is great. What other authors should I check out if I enjoy him?

Mine is Bernhard: intelligent, nihilistic and with a wicked sense of humor.

Does anybody in here fuck wot Thomas Bernhard? It's strange that he's not much mentioned in 4chan, his works are mostly about autistic austrian dudes goin mad and -eventually- comittin suicide.

Thomas Bernhard's novels. The Loser and Correction has a lot of the same anti-natalist tendencies as Ligotti and Cioran. Woodcutters is also very entertaining if you share his pessimistic outlook. It is mostly him shit-talking people and artistic/intellectual culture in his head at a dinner party. He was sued when it first came out and the people recognized themselves in the novel.

Also if you liked Cioran, I would recommend his first book On the Heights of Despair. It's pretty juvenile (he wrote it when he was 23) but there are still some great passages and it lays the foundation for the rest of his work.
