It's a bunch of pretentious rambling and it's not even googleable anymore. I'm probably one of the only people who remembers it, other than the author, but for some reason it won't leave my head.

I've recently realized that my self esteem has always centered around external sources (good job, making people proud, having a gf, etc.), but that this is a precarious system as the moment I lose one of those various things I spiral down into depression.

How does one remove their sense of self from external parties and locate it in a more 'internal' form?
