Any good literature that might help one cope with certain death?

Has any of the weird shit you've read online stuck with you?

For some reason I can't forget about https://web.archive.org/web/20180110043347/https://www.fluland.com/2017/02/25/finding-love-in-the-age-of-the-bug-by-john-doe/.. It's a bunch of pretentious rambling and it's not even googleable anymore. I'm probably one of the only people who remembers it, other than the author, but for some reason it won't leave my head.

>The woods were described as they were thought to be and not as they are. This discredited all of Dantes writing for me. Although I also understand now how it is hopeless to expect any form of realism in a story about a man who travels to hell.

Christ neither of you get it, but you REALLY don't get it

Do you have any clue how insane a medieval forest would be? Every single woods you've ever been in has probably been cultivated to shit. Even so, the fact you don't believe woods in general can be wild is fucking AUTISTIC.

At what point do the horrors of the world exhibited in literature give way to becoming a good, charitable person in real life?

If this guy "beat the system" does that mean we're in for a wave of shit that reads like this as it becomes the hot new thing for plebs?

File: 769 KB, 585x430, that feel when lose job and gf in same day and living at moms house and poor and dont know anyone and everything seems to go bad and just scared of life in general to the point you stay frozen in bed all day.gif [View same] [iqdb] [saucenao] [google]

I've recently realized that my self esteem has always centered around external sources (good job, making people proud, having a gf, etc.), but that this is a precarious system as the moment I lose one of those various things I spiral down into depression.

How does one remove their sense of self from external parties and locate it in a more 'internal' form?
