Currently also reading EoE, nice demonic trips btw.

I feel like Cathy is fairly interesting, but do you feel like sometimes Steinbeck just doesn't let his characters make logical descisions? It seems for me (at page 300) to not just be Cathy but a lot of other characters make decisions or do things without any prior explanation. I'm not looking to see behind the veil of the mind, but I'm not sure he's the best at developing characters.

What's your take OP?
