Thus Spake Zarathustra,
The Myth of Sisyphus

I mostly misuse existentialism to avoid moral responsibility though.

Hop-Frog was a fucking boss, though. You know, I've never read Murders in the Rue Morgue; I hear that one's pretty gruesome, too.

If I'm reading a particularly long book sometimes I'll read short stories or poetry intermittently to change things up a bit.

Trying two or more demanding novels at the same time is fairly easy, but overall I think it's distracting to the point of being counterintuitive.

There have been no good horror authors after Poe and Lovecraft.
Prove me wrong /lit/.

Why is that? If I were steampunk, I would totally want Verne to be me.

Terrible book. Ayn Rand's writing is melodramatic, self-important, and just dull. Dagny's kind of a Mary-Sue character, and the rest of the characters are all pretty one-dimensional.

The only part of the book worth reading is John Galt's gigantic speech near the end, which is kind of an objectivist manifesto, allowing you to gain enough understanding of it to decide whether you want to pursue it further.

If you REALLY want to read some Ayn Rand, read Anthem. It's short, and has much less wank.
