A passage in Proclus Theology of Plato, about the agnosticism, of even most believers, in all the spirits of the even lowest spheres of Body (the physical sphere itself contains 12 spheres, which often are confused with the decad/enneadic spheres depending on which you count)—I'm not home, but it is summed up prophetically by Thales' fragment: Everything is full of gods. The Ancients didn't animate the world, but rather as Plotinus put it, everything contemplates and everything is contemplation. This is ultimately the conclusion one must derived from Schopenhauer, everything is Will but how can what is dead will? So, all is Zoë.
