i would understand why you would want to quit this but why quit the other stuff? why would deprive yourself of those things and waste your life? do them as long as they are free and don't cost money

my asceticism is to sustain myself without needing anyone else. being completely independent from other people.

i think this was reason monks back in the day did it to but they'll never admit that. they'll claim they did it for spiritual reasons

it's probably better to reread books so you memorize them instead of reading as many new books as you can and forget what you read without review
