I'm looking for a creative outlet. What is your creative outlet? Do you expect to eventually transition your career to your creative outlet? Why or why not?

I love literature, my heroes are Joyce, Proust, Borges, Kubrick, the Coen brothers and various comedians, and I yearn to do something creative. I've tried writing fiction on and off, and my logic for giving up was that I had to push myself to write, but now that I read Kafka's diary and "The War of Art" by Pressfield this feeling of resistance to do one's art is very natural, so maybe it's not the creative outlet per-se but just me pussying out. So I'm thinking of writing fiction again but I might explore other mediums.

I just got done with a punctuation only reading of Moby Dick and I already feel the benefits. It has transformed my appreciation of the book tenfold by allowing me to put aside the surface level distraction that is the prose and instead zero in on the actual structure of the work, the framework that allows the prose to flourish.

I find that after several rereadings that a punctuation only reading is almost like the final boss of a work, without doing one I can't really claim to have understood the work.

What's worse, writing something and everyone hates it or writing something and everyone ignores it?
