Has anybody here studied creative writing at university?

I'm planning to do a masters degree in contemporary english literature (i know, i'm retarded, but i enjoy it and i've done well at bachelors) but there is an option to study contemporary literature and creative writing, too, in which my masters thesis would instead be a creative writing piece. Does anyone have exp with this and can perhaps tell me if it's worth it?
