I disagree about the “best way” to learn about gnosticism you suggest. Sticking to some sort of official canon of “holy texts” is the method of the demiurgic servants like “the Church”. Gnosticism is something interior, and if people want an outward support for that, it is better to read people closer to home, fellow travelers from their own time. Unironically, read Philip K. Dick. The Nag Hamadi type texts are kind of retarded 2deep4you anyway. They’re, frankly, quite autistic.
